About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Ostren Ltd ("Ostren", "we" or "us"), company number [PENDING], registered office [PENDING]. You accept them when you create your account. Questions and complaints go to orpine.support@ostren.co.uk.

The words defined in our privacy policy mean the same here.

02

Early access

Orpine is in early access. Access is by invitation, and it is free. You can take 10 lessons, with no time limit, and finished lessons stay readable.

Orpine is still being built. Features may change or disappear, and the service may be unavailable or lose data while we work on it. We may end early access at any time, and when we do we delete your data. We also close an organisation after six months without a sign-in.

We may use feedback you give us to improve Orpine, with nothing owed to you for it.

03

AI-written content

Lessons and tutor replies are written by AI, and they can contain mistakes. Check anything important against a trusted source before you rely on it, especially on professional, medical, legal, financial or safety matters. Orpine does not give professional advice.

Learning done in Orpine is not a qualification or an accreditation. A regulator, professional body or employer decides for itself whether to accept it.

04

Your account

You must be 18 or over. Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and use only your own account.

Do not:

  • try to get around Orpine's security or its limits;
  • use Orpine for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive;
  • use Orpine in a way that breaks the usage policies of the partners who power its AI, listed in our privacy policy;
  • share your invitation or your access with anyone else.
05

Your content

Your learner content belongs to you. You give us permission to use it only to provide, support and secure Orpine. We never use it to train AI models.

Orpine itself, including its software and its name, belongs to Ostren.

06

Ending the agreement

You can end this agreement at any time by emailing orpine.support@ostren.co.uk from your account's email address. We then close your organisation and delete its data. Closing cannot be undone.

We may suspend or end this agreement if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or when early access ends.

07

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when you accepted these terms. Orpine is for private use during early access, so we are not responsible for loss of profit, business or business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

08

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the law, Orpine or its suppliers change. The version and date at the top change with them, and we email you before a significant change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can end this agreement under section 6.

09

Transfer, law and courts

We may transfer this agreement to another organisation that takes over Orpine, and we tell you before that happens. You need our written agreement to transfer it to someone else.

The law of England and Wales governs these terms, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
